This seems like the appropriate place to
Time certainly does fly. Though it's taken a long time for Second Life to catch up to the graphics capabilities of the year 2008, I'll go out on a limb and say that we're finally there. ... In 2012. And with only twice the demand on system resources, nonetheless!
Well, I'm still pleased to frequent the grid whenever I can afford a moment to myself. After so long talking to people there, you form some pretty tight bonds and I'd venture to say that those bonds are what keep people there.
Here's where reading all my nonsense actually becomes of use to you, though. Do you like some of the articles of clothing, accessories, avatars, or finishing touches you see in that portrait? Well you'll love this, then:
The Look
The denim vest I'm wearing can be found on marketplace, or by clicking the the link here. What I really enjoy about this vest is that it comes with all the texture files you need to make this feel like you really own it. The patches you see on there took me a few minutes in Photoshop to add, and with that much space it's likely to become my favorite project.
The mohawk is actually from the marketplace as well. It took me a considerable amount of time to find it, but it has a demo that you can try out before you buy the real thing. There are a pretty good amount of colors to choose from, so finding one to match your avatar just right shouldn't be a problem.
The cigarette is from a vendor by the name of "Action" and the dog tags are from a vendor you'll have to find inworld. The vendor is Kojima Industries, who's shop can be found by searching "Kojima Industries." Their store is easy to navigate and has a few other nice vendors inside. The best part is since having a talk with the content creator, Julie, she's included the textures with a purchase of the tags.
Final Thoughts
I'm very pleased with this look, however it still desires something. I'm sure that I'll find odd pieces here and there to add to this avatar, continually improving it. Another patch on the vest just says something more about who I am, and what I enjoy. The cigarette just goes with the look, however. I'm 9 days into another journey; quitting smoking. I think that's a very optimistic note to leave off on, don't you?
